TESTIMONIALS

We are very grateful to the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Talbot's solicitors for their continuing support.  Peter Mathews, CMG, Chairman of Black Country Metals Ltd, President of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and President of the Midland World Trade Forum says 'I am delighted to have been associated with the squad for the past two years.  They do a great job in finding and nurturing young disabled swimmers, and I wish them all the best for the future'.  Liz Colesby, a partner at Talbot's Solicitors says 'Since I have been actively involved with the squad, I habe been hugely impressed by the commitment, ambition and dedication of all the swimmers.  Talbot's Solicitors are delighted to help raise the profile of the squad and to acknowledge the need to raise its awareness as we run up to the Paralympics in London in 2012 and beyond.  I take real pride in all the swimmers' endeavours'.

APPEAL FOR SUPPORT

The squad has a large number of young swimmers, many of whom are the only disabled swimmers in their clubs.  The squad affords them the opportunity to train with other disabled swimmers once a month, at present.  There is great hope that many of these swimmers will progress to compete in future World Championships and Paralympics.

However, we need to raise £65,000 in the three years up to 2012 to help us achieve our goal.  There are very few 50 metre pools in the country, which means extensive travel for the squad, its individual swimmers and their families.  We are also planning a number of training camps for intensive training sessions and all this needs to be paid for.  The money is required for travel, pool hire, kit, accommodation and coaching.  The squad relies on fundraising and the generosity of the swimmers' families to raise this money.

All members of the squad have overcome adversity to rise to their current level of ability.  We have high hopes for them at the London Games in 2012 and beyond.  Let's hope they can bring Paralympic medals back to the West Midlands.  Your generosity will help them achieve their goals and realise their dreams.  We have submitted our application for Charitable staus - our application number is 5009590.  If you wish to contribute, please contact our Chairman, Kevin O'Connor (details on the Contact page) or use the donation form - just follow the link below.
